ORDINANCE NO. 79 -1
AN ORDINANCE regarding rules of procedure
governing the time, place and conduct of
County Council meeting, and the intro-
duction, publication, consideration and
adoption of ordinances:
SECTION 1: The Whatcom County Council shall meet at least
semi - monthly on Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. at the Whatcom County
Courthouse, unless decided otherwise by the.Council;
SECTION 2: Council business shall be conducted pursuant to
"Sturgis Standard Code of Parlimentary Procedure," second edition,
except when in conflict with the standing rules of the Council;
SECTION 3: The introduction, publication, consideration and
adoption of ordinances shall be governed by the Home Rule Charter
for Whatcom County, ordinances and resolutions of the County
Council or, when not addressed by the above, by general lava;
SECTION 4: The County Council finds as a fact and declares
that an emergency exists and that this ordinance is necessary for
the immediate preservation of public peace, health or safety or
for the support of County government and its existing public
institutions.
