HomeMy WebLinkAboutord1980-0751 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 DATE: September 18 1980 INTRODUCED BY: Hansey PROPOSED BY: Finance Committee ORDINANCE NO. 80 -75, AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AN EMERGENCY APPRO- PRIATION FOR THE 1980 SOLDIERS RELIEF .FUND, AS PROVIDED FOR IN ARTICLE 6, SECTION 6.72 OF THE HOME RULE CHARTER AND R.C.W. 36.40.190 WHEREAS, expenditures in 1980 have exceeded the anticipated and budgeted level in the Soldiers Relief Fund;. and WHEREAS, there will be a continued need for expenditures from this fund for the balance of 1980; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The Council finds that this Ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and /or support of the County government. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon ,approval by the County Executive, SECTION 2. The Auditor of Whatcom County shall issue warrant on the Soldiers Relief Fund and charge the following budget account: 0114 -0010- 553 -60 -42 Miscellaneous Relief $20,000900 SECTION 3. The Treasurer of Whatcom County is directed to register interest- bearing-warrants on the Soldiers Relief Fund. SECTION 4. The levy for the Soldiers Relief Fund for.the ensuing year 1981 shall be adjusted to include the additional $20,000.00 plus interest thereon, at the rate of five and one -half percent (5z7o) per annum.
