AN ORDINANCE REGARDING DF ?A,SOLITION OF THE
LYNDEN TOWN HALL, WHICH IS WHATCOM COUNTY
PROPERTY.
PREAMBLE: The Lynden Town Hall located on East Grover Street in
Lynden has deteriorated to the point where it is a danger and an
eyesore. The building and the land are owned by Whatcom County
and the City of Lynden wishes the building were demolished. Mayor
Van Andel of Lynden has indicated the City of Lynden is willing to
demolish the building but is awaiting approval from Whatcom County.
The county finds the building has no value and it isain the best
interests of everyone concerned that the building be demolished.
THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE WHATCOM COUNTY COUNCIL:
Section 1.
The City of Lynden is given permission °by Whatcom County
to demolish the Lynden Town Hall which is located in Lynden, Wash-
ington, on East Grover Street. The City of Lynden shall perform
this task in whatever method it deems appropriate, at no cost to t].
County of ]^dhatcom.
