ORDINANCE NO. 82-96
AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE
FRANCHISE OF NATIONWIDE CABLE -
VISION FOR A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR
WHEREAS, on December 22, 1967 Whatcom County granted
Nationwide Cablevision a franchise to operate and maintain a cable
communications system within the unincorporated areas of Whatcom
County; and,
WHEREAS, the aforesaid franchise shall expire on
December_22, 1982; and,
WHEREAS, Whatcom County and Nationwide Cablevision desi
to enter into a new franchise agreement, but such agreement may not
be completed prior to the December 22, 1982 expiration date.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE WHATCOM COUNTY
COUNCIL that the franchise of Nationwide Cablevision to maintain a
cable communications system within the unincorporated areas of
Whatcom County, originally enacted December 22, 1967, is hereby
extended for a period of one year commencing December 22,'1982.
Provided, that in the event a new franchise agreement is reached
by the parties prior to the expiration of said one year extension,
the new agreement may be implemented at such earlier date as may be
agreed to the by parties.
