ORDINANCE NO. 82 -94
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE DIVERTING
OF A PORTION OF -THE COUNTY ROAD LEVY
TO THE CURRENT EXPENSE FUND
TO BE USED FOR THE SUPPORT OF
THE COUNTY LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES
IN THE UNINCORPORATED AREAS
OF WHATCOM COUNTY, WASHINGTON
WHEREAS, R.C.W. 36.33.220 authorizes counties to expend any.
portion of the county road property tax revenues foF any
service to be pr'�vided in the unincorporated aregg of tow
county, and
WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council has determined, after due
. delive.ratio.n of the 1983 budget, to use part of the county road
miilage for the support of county law enforcement services, and
WHEREAS, R.C.W. 36.82.040 mandates that revenues diverted from
the county read levy shall be placed -in a noparata
identifiable account within the county Current Expense Fund:

NON, THEREFORE, BE!,IT ORDAINED:
Section 1.
The Whatcom County Council does hereby authorize a diverting of
a portion of the County Road District levy in the amount of
$400,000, for the budget year .of 1983 only, to the Current
Expense Fund, account number 311.20 to be used for the support
of the County law enforcement services in the unincorporated
areas of Whatcom County. The Road District levy rate for taxes
payable in 1983 is' $1,38456per thousand. The rate required, tp-
