ORDINANCE NO. 82_gp
AN ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH SPEED.LIMITS ON .CERTAIN COUNTY ROADS
WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council is authorized under RCW 46.61.415 to
establish speed limits on certain county roads, and
WHEREAS, an engineering study was conducted by the Engineering Division, and
WHEREAS, a review was conducted by the Sheriff's Department,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED that the speed limits be set as follows:
1) 35 MPH on Lake Whatcom Boulevard, between 1600 feet west of Lakeside
Avenue and South Bay Road, Section 36, Township 38 North, Range 3
East and Section 31, Township 38 North, Range 4 East and Sections 5,
6,8,17 and 20, Township 37 North, Range 4 East.
2) 35 MPH on South Bay Drive, between Lake Whatcom Boulevard and Park
Road, Sections 20, 21, .22, 23., 26, 27, 26,and 29.,, Township 37 North,
Range 4 East.
3) 35 NPH on Park Road, between South Bay Drive and SR 9, Sections 23,
25 and 26, Township 37 North, Range 4 East and Section 30, Township
37 North, Range 5 East.
BE I.T FURTHER ORDAINED that the County Engineer be and is hereby directed to
post appropriate signs and that the Whatcom County Sheriff and the Washington
State Patrol be notified by a copy of this ordinance.
