AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING
THE VICTIM /WITNESS ASSISTANCE FUND BUDGET
WHEREAS, the Washington State Legislature passed Second
Substitute House Bill 828 in March, 1982, requiring that all
County Prosecutor's Offices have a Victim /Witness Assistance
Program to aid the victim's and witnesses of crimes, and
WHEREAS, the funds to run this program are generated from the
assessments paid by defendents convicted of crimes, and
WHEREAS, the Victim /Witness Assistance Fund was established by
the adoption of Ordinance No. 82 -41, passed on June 17, 1982,
and
WHEREAS, a budget must be established to allow for the
expenditures of revenues and maintain a State approved
accounting system;
NDW, THEREFORE, BE IT.ORDAINED the Victim /Witness Assistance
Fund Budget is hereby established with a Fund /Department number
of 0142 -0020;
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED the coordinator of this fund shall be
the Whatcom County Prosecuting Attorney, and appropriate
accounting records, claims, deposits, and reports shall be
generated from that same office;
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED this initial budget shall be established
in the following manner with a total revenue /expenditure amount
of $7,450.00:
