ORDINANCE NO: 82 -63
AN ORDINANCE CREATING COUNTY DOG CONTROL
ZONE NO. 3 IN THE AREA OF WOODLAWN
CEMETERY AND THE PLAT OF LAUREL GROVE
IN WHATCOM COUNTY
WHEREA6, Whatcom County Ordinance No. 81 -3 provides for the
81�rocedure for the establishment of dog control zones in the unin-

9 orporated areas of Whatcom County; and
10 WHEREAS, pursuant to this procedure the Whatcom County Council
11 as received a petition and accompanying map requesting that a
12 log control zone be established in the area of the plat of Laurel
13 3rove. and Woodlawn Cemetery; and
14 WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council finds that the public.
15 ftealth, safety and general welfare would be served by establishing
16 a dog control zone encompassing the area proposed in this petition;
17 NOW, THEREFORE, THE WHATCOM COUNTY COUNCIL.DOES ORDAIN that:
1$ Section 1.
19 The portion of Whatcom County described as follows:
20 All of Woodlawn Cemetery, Whatcom County Cemetery District #6, and
21 Laurel Grove Addition including additions No. 1, 2 and 3 in Section
22 22, Township 39N, Range LE. More specifically described as
23 All of the Southeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of said
24 Isection 22; also the Southwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of
25 said Section 22 except that portion lying North of the North line
26 of Laurel Grove Addition No. 3; also the West 33 feet of the
27 Southeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of said Section 22
28 lexcept that portion of the.West 33 feet lying North of the North li
29 of Laurel Grove Addition No. 3.
30 is hereby established as Whatcom County Dog Control Zone no. 3.
31 Said zone is shown on the official map attached hereto and by
32 reference make a part hereof. Upon the effective date of this

ordinance as provided in Section 2 hereof, the provisions of
County Ordinance 81 -3 pertaining to Dog Control Zones, as well as
the other pertinent sections of that ordinance, shall apply to
Whatcom County Dog Control Zone No. 3.
Section 2
This ordinance shall go into effect on October 15, 1982 .
Effective on that date, and pursuant to Whatcom County Code
Section 6.04.080, it shall be unlawful within Whatcom County Dog
Control Zone No. 3 to have possession of or custody of or to har-
bor or give refuge to any dog over three months of age without a
valid County dog license.
Section 3.
The license fee for licenses purchased in Whatcom County Dog
Control Zone No. 3 between October 15, 1982 and March 31, 1983
shall be one -half the amount sot fgrth,n Whatdom County.Code
(Section 6.04.080.
Section 4. Severability
If any provision of this ordinance or its application to any
person or circumstances is held invalid, the remainder of this
ordinance, or application of the provision to other persons or
circumstances is not affected.
