ORDINANCE NO. 82. -49 AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE TO MODIFY THE STOP SIGN CONTROL AT THE INTE SECTION OF BIRCH BAY - LYNDEN ROAD, HARBORVIEW ROAD AND MORGAN DRIVE WHEREAS, in compliance with RCW 46.61.200, it is found neces- 11 sary and expedient to place traffic control signs on certain County roads, and WHEREAS, an Engineering investigation was made and it was found that a modification in stop sign control was warranted. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED that the intersection of Birch . Bay - Lynden Road, Harborview Road and Morgan Drive, Sections 24 and 25, Township 40 North, Range 1 West and Sections 19 and 30, Town- ship 40 North, Range 1 East, W.M., be changed from a two -way stop intersection to a four -way stop intersection. The existing stop sign, stopping westbound traffic on Birch Bay - Lynden Road at Har- borview Road and the existing stop sign stopping southeastbound traffic at Harborview Road shall both remain. A stop sign shall be instalged in each of the following locations: ON HARBORVIEW ROAD AT BIRCH BAY - LYNDEN ROAD, STOPPING SOUTHBOUND TRAFFIC, AND ON HARBORVIEW ROAD AT BIRCH BAY - LYNDEN ROAD, STOPPING NORTHBOUND TRAFFIC BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the County Engineer be and is hereby directed to post the appropriate signs and that the Whatcom County Sheriff and the Washington State Patrol be notified�by a copy of this ordinance. BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that this ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of public peace, safety, and shall take effect immediately upon approval by the County Executive.
