ORDINANCE NO. 82 -43
AN ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH SPEED LIMITS ON LUMMI ISLAND ROADS
WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council is authorized under RCW 46.61.415 to
establish speed limits on certain County Roads, and
WHEREAS, an Engineering Study was conducted by the Engineering Division, and
WHEREAS., a review was conducted by.the Sheriff Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED that the speed limits be set as follows:
1) 25 mph on West Shore Drive, between Nugent Road and Blizzard
Road, Section 32, Township 38 North, Range 1 East;
2) 25 mph on Nugent Road, between West Shore-Drive and Legoe Bay
Road, Sections 4 and 9, Township 37 North, Range 1 East, and
Sections 32 and 33, Township 38 North, Range 1 East;
3) 35 mph.on West Shore. Drive, between Blizzard Road and Legoe
Bay Road, Sections 5 and 8, Township 37 North, Range 1 East;
4) 35 mph on Legoe Bay Road, between West Shore Drive and Nugent
Road,. Sections 8 and 9, Township 37 North, Range 1 East;
5) 35 mph on Hilltop Road, between Legoe Bay Road and Nugent
Road, Sections 4 and 9, Township 37 North, Range 1 East.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the County Engineer be and is hereby directed to
post appropriate signs and that the Whatcom County Sheriff and the Washington
State Patrol be notified by a copy of this ordinance.
PASSED this 15th day of July 1982.
