ORDINANCE NO. 8 ?-24
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ABOLITION OF
DEPOSITS OF PAST DUE TAXES AND INTEREST THEREON
INTO THE PUBLIC HEALTH POOLING FUND, AND THE
AUTHORIZATION OF THE TRANSFER OF SAID MONIES NOW THEREIN
FROM THE PUBLIC HEALTH POOLING FUND
TO THE CURRENT EXPENSE FUND'S 301 - BEGINNING CASH BALANCE
WHEREAS, R.C.W. Chapter 70.12 abolishes the requirement for
counties to levy separate "Public Health Levies ", and mandates
county legislative authorities to "annually budget an
appropriate a sum for public health work ", and
WHEREAS, County Council passed Resolution No. 81 -5 on January
22, 1981, stating their intention to comply with this R.C.W.
beginning in 1982:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED the Public Health Pooling Fund
monies received from. past due taxes plus the interest thereon
currently in this fund shall be transferred to the Whatcom
County Current Expense Fund, 301 - .Beginning Cash Balance..
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED all monies to be received in excess of
the 1982 Budgeted Revenue and all past due taxes plus interest
shall be deposited to the Whatcom County Current Expense Fund
for distribution pursuant to Ordinance;
