ORDINANCE NO. 83 -51
AN ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH PARKING CONTROL IN THE
VICINITY OF THE BIRCH BAY - LYNDEN ROAD AND
HARBORVIEW ROAD INTERSECTION.
_WHEREAS, in compliance with RCW 46.61.570, it is found necessary and
expedient to place traffic control signs on certain County roads; and
WHEREAS, a review was conducted by the County Sheriff's office and the
County Engineer's office; and
WHEREAS, the existing roadway features in the vicinity of Birch Bay -
Lynden Road and Harborview Road intersection are not adequate to safely allow
vehicles to park on the roadway shoulder.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED. that a No Parking, Tow .Away Zone be
established on the following sections of County roadway:
1. Birch Bay - Lynden Road between Harborview Road and 1/4 mile
east of Harborview road, both sides, in Section
19 and 30, Township 40 North, Range 1 East
2. Harborview Road, between Birch Bay - Lynden Road and Comfort
Lane, both sides in Section 24, Township 40 North,
Range 1 West and Section 19, Township 40 N, 1'an;e
1East
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the County Engineer be and is hereby direct-
ed to post the appropriate signs, and that the Ldhatcom County Sheriff and the
?Washington State Patrol be notified by a copy of this ordinance.
The provisions of this ordinance are hereby added to the Whatcom County
Code, Section 10.24.
