AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING A REVISED BUDGET
FOR THE 1983 CURRENT EXPENSE FUND
SHERIFF BUDGET THEREIN
WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Sheriff Department has received a
grant from the Washington Traffic Safety Commission for the
purpose of funding a Driving While Under The Influence (DWI)
Program aimed at curbing the incidence of driving while
intoxicated through enforcement, treatment, and public
education, and
WHEREAS, the grant amount is $29,173.00 for a twelve month
period, of which $17,111.00 will be expended in 1983, the
balance to be carried over into 1984, and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to incorporate the funding into the
Sheriff Budget of the Current. Expense Fund to allow for
expenditure of said funds;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED the following Revised Budget is
hereby approved for the 1983 Current Expense Fund, Sheriff
Budget therein:

MOTION BY THE WHATCOM COUNTY COUNCIL ON JUNE 2, 1983
In regards to Ordinance No. 83 -48 AUTHORIZING
A REVISED BUDGET FOR THE 1983 - CURRENT EXPENSE FUND
SHERIFF BUDGET THEREIN, a motion was passed that in
the event the funding grant is dicontinued by the
Washington Traffic Safety Commission the position
will also be eliminated.
