ORDINANCE NO. 83-45
ROAD, AN ORDXN41'C ESTABLISHIM SPEED LIMITS ON RIVER ROAD,
BORTION ROAD, K=W.,G FOAD, PRINCE ROAD AND FAST SMITH
DEAD-END •.• A
WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council is authorized under RLW 46.61.415
to establish speed limits on certain County roads; and
WHEREAS, an Engineering study was conducted by the County Engineer's
office for each of the dead -end roadways under consideration; and
WHEREAS, a review was conducted by the County Sheriff's office.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED that the speed limits be established
as follows:
35 MPH on River Road, the entire length,
Sections 25, 34, 35
and 36, Township 40 North, Range 2 East,
W.M.; and
35 MPH on Horton Road, the entire length,
Section 6, Township
38 North, Range 3 East, W.M.; and
35 MPH on Kellogg Road, the entire length, Section 7, Township
38 North, Range 3 East, W.M.; and
35 MPH on Prince Road, the entire length,
Section 7, Township
38 North, Range 3 East, W.M.; and
40 MPH on East Smith, between State Route
542 and the eastern
end of East Smith Road, Sections 27, 28,
33 and 34, Township
39 North, Range 4 East, W.M.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the County Engineer be and is hereby
directed to post appropriate signs, and that the Whatcc n County Sheriff and
the Washington State Patrol be notified by a copy of this ordinance.
Provisions of this ordinance are hereby added to the Whatcan County Code
Sections 10.04.050 and 10.04.060.
