HomeMy WebLinkAboutord1983-0441 2', 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 DATE May 5, 1983 INTRODUCED BY Roehl PROPOSED BY Engineering ORDINANCE NO. 83-45 AN ORDINANCE ES'T'ABLISHING SPEED LDffTS ON RIVER ROAD, HORTON ROAD, KE=,,G ROAD, PRINCE ROAD AND EAST SMITH ROAD, ALL DEAD -END ROADWAYS WHEREAS, the Whatccm County Council is authorized under RCW 46.61.415 to establish speed limits on certain County roads; and WHEREAS, an Engineering study was conducted by the County Engineer's office for each of the dead -end roadways under consideration; and WHEREAS, a review was conducted by the County Sheriff's office. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED that the speed limits be established as follows: 35 MPH on River Road, the entire length, Sections 25, 34, 35 and 36, Township 40 North, Range 2 East, W.M.; and 35 MPH on Horton Road, the entire length, Section 6, Township 38 North, Range 3 East, W.M.; and 35 MPH on Kellogg Road, the entire length, Section 7, Township 38 North, Range 3 East, W.M.; and 35 MPH on Prince Road, the entire length, Section 7, Township 38 North, Range 3 East, W.M.; and 40 MPH on East Smith, between State Route 542 and the eastern end of East Smith Road, Sections 27, 28, 33 and 34, Township 39 North, Range 4 East, W.M. BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the County Engineer be and is hereby directed to post appropriate signs, and that the Whatcown County Sheriff and the Washington State Patrol be notified by a copy of this ordinance. Provisions of this ordinance are hereby added to the Whatccm County Code Sections 10.04.050 and 10.04.060. PASSED this 2nd day of June 1983.
