ORDINANCE NO.83 -37
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE
NO. 82 -30 FOR THE PURPOSE OF
ESTABLISHING_, NEW BOUNDARIES FOR
FERNDALE TOWNSHIP PRECINCTS
NO. 2 AND 3
WHEREAS, the City of Ferndale has annexed territory
causing a division in the voting precinct presently designated as
Ferndale Township No. 3; and,
WHEREAS, said annexation requires the establishment of
new voting precinct boundaries; and,
WHEREAS, state law (Chapter 29.04) requires the County
legislative authority to divide the County into election precincts
and to establish the boundaries of same; and,
WHEREAS, the County Council has previously established
precinct boundaries through enactment of Ordinance No. 82 -30;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE WHATCOM COUNTY
a
COUNCIL that Ordinance No. 82 -30, An Ordinance Altering the Boun-
daties of Electoral Precincts Within Whatcom County, be and hereby
is amended so as to establish new precinct boundaries for the pre-
cincts designated as Ferndale Township No. 2 and Ferndale Township
No. 3, as more Darticularly described in Exhibit "A" which is
attached hereto.

EXHIBIT "A"
PRECINCT: FERNDALE TWP. 2
Beginning at the Northwest Corner of Section 6, Township
39 North, Range 2 East, thence South approximately 2 1/2 miles
to the North line of the City Limits of the City of Ferndale,
thence Easterly and Southerly along said City Limits to the
Right of Way of Inter -State 5, thence Northerly along said
Right of Way to the Northern most point of said City Limits,
thence Easterly and Southerly along said City Limits to the
center channel of the Nooksack River, thence Northeasterly
along said River to its intersection with the North Line of
Section 3, Township 39 North, Range 2 East, thence West
approximately 3 1/4 miles to the point of beginning.
PRECINCT: FERNDALE TWP. 3
Beginning at the Northwest corner of Section 19, Township
39 North, Range 2 East, thence Southerly 3 miles to the South-
west corner of Section 31, Township 39 North, Range 2 East,
thence East 1 mile to the Northwest corner of Section 5,
Township 38 North, Range 2 East thence South approximately
1 3/4 miles to the meander line of the Nooksack River, thence
Northeasterly along said meander line to its interesection
with the North line of Section 5, Township 38 North, Range
2 East, thence East to the City Limits of the City of Ferndale,
thence North, West and North along said City Limits to the
North line of Section 19, Township 39 North, Range 2 East,
thence West approx 'imately 1/2 mile to the point of beginning.
