3 ORDINANCE NO. 83 -15
4 AN ORDINANCE TO REDUCE THE SPEED LIMIT ON A PORTION OF
EAST BAKERVIEW ROAD
WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council is authorized under RCW 46.61.415 to
5 establish speed limits on County roads; and
7 WHEREAS, an Engineering study was conducted by the County Engineers office
and it was determined that reducing the speed limit was in the best interest
8 of the County regarding the safety of the motoring public.
9 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED.that the speed limit on East Bakerview Road,
between James Street Road and the Bellingham City Limits, Sections 7 and 18,
10 Township 38 North, Range 3 East, W.M., be reduced from 40 mph to 35 mph.
11 BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the County Engineer be and is hereby directed to
post appropriate signs and that the Whatcom County Sheriff and the Washington
12 State. Patrol be notified by a copy of this ordinance.
