ORDINANCE N0. 83 -1
AN ORDINANCE REGARDING THE MATTER OF MODIFYING THE SPEED
LIMIT ON PORTIONS OF GOODWIN ROAD
WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council is authorized under R.G.W. 46.61.415
to establish speed limits on County Roads; and,
WHEREAS, an engineering and traffic investigation has been performed and
conclusions indicate that Resolution E -67 -33 is in need of modification at
this time; and,
WHEREAS, a review was conducted by the Sheriff's Department with results
in agreement.'
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED that the speed limit on two portions of
Goodwin Road be set as follows:
1) 25 miles per hour on Goodwin Road between South Pass Road
and 1600 feet south of South Pass Road; and
2) 50 miles per hour (unposted) on Goodwin Road between 1600
feet south of South Pass Road and Swift Creek, previously
called Hardan Creek;
Both portions of Goodwin Road being in Sections 33 and 34,
Township 40 North, Range 4 East, W.M.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the County Engineer be and is hereby directed
to post appropriate signs'and that the Whatcom County Sheriff and the
Washington State Patrol be notified by a copy of this ordinance.
