Ordinance No. 84 -116
AN ORDINANCE REGARDING THE MATTER OF
ESTABLISHING SPEED LIMITS ON VARIOUS
COUNTY ROADS
WHEREAS,' the Whatcom County Council is authorized under RCW 46.61.415
to establish speed limits on Certain County Roads; and
r
WHEREAS, an engineering study was conducted by the County Engineer's
office; and
WHEREAS, a review was conducted by the County Sheriff's office.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED that speed limits be established as
follows:
1) 25 M.P.H. on all roadways within the plat of Enterprise Terrace,
Section 33, Township 40 North, Range 2 East, W.M.
2) 35 M.P.H. on Rutsatz Road, the entire length, Sections 4 and 5,
Township 38 North, Range 5 East, and Sections 33 and
34, Township 39 North, Range 5 East.
3) 35 M.P.H. on Kwina Road, between Lummi Shore and Haxton Way,
Section 12, Township 38 North, Range 1 East, W.M.,
and Section. 7, Township 38 North, Range 2 East, W.M.,
except the speed limit shall be
20 M.P.H. When Children are Present, between Chief Martin Road
and Lummi Shore Road, Section 12, Township 38 North,
Range 1 East, and Section 7, Township 38 North, Range 2
East, W.M.
4) 25 M:P.H. on Cottonwood Avenue, between Bennett Avenue and the
Bellingham City Limits, Section 14, Township. 38 North,
Range 2 East, W.M. .
5) 25 M.P.H. on all roadways within the plat of Tweed Twenty,
Sections 15 and 22, Township 38 North, Range 3 East,
W.M.
6). 25 M.P.H. on all roadways within the plat of Greenville East,
Section 15, Township 38 North, Range 3 East, W.M.
7) 25 M.P.H. on all roadways within the plat of Sommerset, Section
15, Township 38 North, Range 3 East, W.M.

12) 35 M.P.H. on King Tut Road, between Aldrich Road and Guide
Meridian (SR -539), Sections 11, 12, 13 and 14,
Township 39 North, Range 2 East, W.M. (Supersedes
Resolution No. E- 78 -21)
BE IF FURTHER ORDAINED that the County Engineer be and is hereby
directed to post appropriate signs, and that the Whatcom County Sheriff
and the Washington State Patrol be notified by a copy of this
ordinance.
Whatcom County Code, Sections 10.04.020, 10.04.030 and 10.04.040 are
hereby amended by the provisions of this ordinance.
