ORDINANCE NO. 84 -94
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 3.04 OF
THE WHATCOM COUNTY CODE TO AUTHORIZE THE
COUNTY EXECUTIVE TO DELEGATE SIGNATURE
AUTHORITY
WHEREAS, Section 3.04.010 of the Whatcom County Code pro-
vides that transfers or revisions between categories within County
departmental budgets of less than $5,000.00 may be authorized in
writing by the County Executive; and,
WHEREAS, numerous such requests are filed each year which
require the Executive's time and attention; and,
WHEREAS, it would be more expeditious to authorize
another person to sign such transfers and revisions; and,
WHEREAS, Section 3.22(h) of the Charter authorizes the
Executive to delegate responsibility for signing documents;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED that Section 3.04.010 of the
Whatcom County Code is hereby amended as follows:
3.04.010 Transfers and /or revisions within
departments -- Approval for items over.five
thousand dollars: Transfers and /or revisions
between categories within a county departmental
budget, which do not change the total of the
department's budgeted expenditures, may be
authorized in writing by the county executive;
provided, that the executive may delegate such
authority in accordance with the Whatcom County
Home Rule Charter Section 3.22(h). anel- anther -ity
