ORDINANCE NO. 84 -84
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING A REVISED
BUDGET FOR THE 1984 CURRENT EXPENSE FUND,
ASSIGNED COUNSEL BUDGET THEREIN
WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Assigned Counsel has been appropriated $44,000.00
in the 1984 budget for professional services from attorneys; and
WHEREAS, this appropriation has been entirely obligated because of a number
of costly juvenile dependency trials, the Mario Ortiz retrial and increased
.juvenile dependency filings within the conflict contract; and.
WHEREAS, the County is required to provide indigent legal defense counsel for
the remainder of the year;
NOW THEREFORE LET IT BE ORDAINED, that the following revised budget is hereby
approved for the 1984 Current Expense Fund, Assigned Counsel Budget therein:
CURRENT EXPENSE FUND
ASSIGNED COUNSEL BUDGET
001- 000 -030
OFFSETTING FUNDING:
501 Ending Fund Balance ($25,000.00)
EXPENDITURE:
00040- 512- 11 -31 -01 Professional. Services, $25,000.00
