ORDINANCE NO. 84-72
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING A REVISED
BUDGET FOR THE 1984 CURRENT EXPENSE FUND,
ASSIGNED COUNSEL BUDGET THEREIN
WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Assigned Counsel was
appropriated $39,000.00 in the 1984 budget for professional
services from attorneys; and
WHEREAS, this appropriation has been entirely obligated
because of a number of costly juvenile dependency trials, the
Mario Ortiz retrial and increased juvenile dependency filings
within the conflict contract; and
WHEREAS, the County is obligated to provide indigent
legal defense counsel for the remainder of the year;
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE ORDAINED that the following
revised budget is hereby approved for the 1984 Current Expense
Fund, Assigned Counsel Budget therein:
