ORDINANCE NO. 84 -58
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE URBAN FRINGE
SUBAREA COMPREHENSIVE PLAN MAP FOR CERTAIN
AREAS LOCATED EAST' OF AND ADJACENT TO I -5
FRONTAGE ROAD, SOUTH OF SLATER ROAD AND
NORTH OF WEST BAKERVIEW ROAD.
WHEREAS, the Urban Fringe Subarea Comprehensive Plan was
adopted pursuant to Ordinance 84 -37 on April 12, 1984 to serve as
a guideline for the future use of land in the Urban Fringe Subarea;
and,
WHEREAS, Section 4 of said ordinance directs the Chair-
person of the County Council to initiate the reconsideration of
amendments to the Comprehensive Plan Map affecting the area located
east of and adjacent to I -5 Frontage Road, south of Slater Road
and north of West Bakerview Road; and,
WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Planning Commission, pursuant
to RCW 36.70.440, notifed the County Council that if any revisions
to its recommended Urban Fringe Subarea Comprehensive Plan are to
be made by the Council, a public hearing should be conducted by
the County Council; and,
WHEREAS, a public hearing was conducted on May 10, 1984
following the publication of a legal notice in the official
Whatcom County newspaper, stating the time, place and purpose of
said hearing;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Whatcom County
Council as follows:
SECTION 1. Comprehensive Plan Map.
The Urban Fringe Subarea Comprehensive Plan Map affecting
the geographic area situated east of and adjacent to the I -5

Frontage Road, south of Slater Road, and north of West Bakerview
Road, is hereby amended to establish the Tourist Commercial and
Light Industrial Park designations set forth in.Exhibit 1 which is
attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.
SECTION 2. Signature
The Chairperson of the Whatcom County Council is hereby
authorized to affix his signature to the Comprehensive Plan Map
and all other documents necessary to indicate Council approval.
