HomeMy WebLinkAboutord1984-0551 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 N SUBSTITUTE ORDINANCE II 6 -5 -84 DATE May 17, 1 -984 INTRODUCED BY Conseni.: PROPOSED BY County Executive ORDINANCE NO. 84 -55 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING A REVISED BUDGET FOR THE 1984 CURRENT EXPENSE FUND, NON- DEPARTMENTAL, ANIMAL CONTROL BUDGET THEREIN WHEREAS, the Animal Control Budget in 1984 was envisioned to provide for six (6) months of service; and WHEREAS, the remaining six (6) months funding has been eliminated from the Federal Shared Revenues Budget; and WHEREAS, a new contract for the remaining six (6) months of 1984 has not yet been signed; and WHEREAS, the County Council must make a policy decision regarding 'the nature of animal control services and the service provider; and WHEREAS, there is a need for uninterrupted animal control service in the County for the next three months; WHEREAS, funding must be made available to provide for a continuing contract until that decision is made. NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE ORDAINED, the following revisions are hereby. approved for the 1984 Current Expe.nse fund, Non - Departmentaj, Animal Control Budget therein. BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that it is the intent of the County Council that the Administration shall remove the authority from the Humane Society contract for large. animal control and negotiate separate arrangements for the enforcement of large animal control in Whatcom County effective 7 -1 -84. 1984 CURRENT EXPENSE FUND NON- DEPARTMENTAL ANIMAL CONTROL 001 -000 -100 28 29 OFFSETTING REVISION: 30 501 Ending.
