HomeMy WebLinkAboutord1984-0521/ 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 DATE: May 3, 1985 INTRODUCED BY: Consent PROPOSED BY: Planning L ORDINANCE NO. 84 -52 AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE INTERIM ZONING ORDINANCE, CHAPTER 2.24 OF THE WHATCOM COUNTY CODE, UNTIL July 15, 1986 WHEREAS, pursuant to RCW 36.70.790 Whatcom County has adopted an Interim Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS, the County has established permanent zoning in certain geographic subareas of the County and is in the process of establishing permanent zoning for the remaining subareas; and, WHEREAS, the County Planning Agency, in good faith, has conducted and is conducting studies, and holding hearings, for the purpose of providing recommendations to the County Council in regar� to the adoption of permanent zoning in those subareas; and, WHEREAS, the Interim Zoning Ordinance, Chapter 2.24. of the Whatcom County Code, is scheduled to expire on July 15, 1984; and, WHEREAS, the Interim Zoning Ordinance will expire prior to the implementation of permanent zoning in all subareas of the County leaving those subareas without zoning of any kind; and, WHEREAS, to protect the public safety, health, and genera] welfare, the Interim Zoning Ordinance should be extended as an emergency measure; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED that, pursuant to RCW 36. 70.790, the Interim Zoning Ordinance, Chapter 2.24cf the Whatcom County Code, is hereby extended until July 15, 1986 PASSED this 21st day of June 1984.
