AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING A BUDGET
FOR THE 1984 DEPARTMENT OF ALCOHOD SERVICES
WHEREAS, the Department of Alcohol Services is established as a.
Whatcom County Executive Department with powers and duties As set
forth in Ordinance 84 -9, and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to establish a budget to accommodate.tbe
anticipated revenues and expenditures of the department, aad
WHEREAS, the technicalities of creating a new department hove
created a gap in time during which no funds could be made
available Without this emergency ordinance, and
WHEREAS, the lack of funding for this department would result
in the County being without vital alcohol services for a pe'ripO
of weeks;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED the 1984 Department of Alcohol
Services Fund Budget is hereby established As follows:

Emergency Ordinance -- Alcoholism Fund Budget Established
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the Whatcom County Council finds that
the Ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the
public peace, health, safety and /or support of the County govern-
ment. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon approval
by the County Executive.
