HomeMy WebLinkAboutord1985-108I INTRODUCED BY 2 PROPOSED BY COUNTY EXECUTIVE 4 3 DATE December 19, 1985 4 ORDINANCE NO. 85 -108 5 6 AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE TO REVISE THE 1985 CURRENT EXPENSE FUND, ASSIGNED 7 COUNSEL BUDGET THEREIN WHEREAS, the Assigned Counsel appropriation for professional ser- 8 vices for public defense contracts is currently $60,000; and, 9 WHEREAS, approximately $4,500 additional appropriation authority 10 will be necessary to cover these open ended contracts for 1985; and; 11 WHEREAS, the County's constitutional mandate requires that it pro- vide public defense services to indigent clients; and, 12 WHEREAS, an emergency exists in meeting the County's constitutional 13. and contractual obligations; 14 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED,that the 1985 Current Expense Fund, Assigned Counsel budget therein is hereby revised as follows: 15 1985 CURRENT EXPENSE FUND, 16 ASSIGNED COUNSEL BUDGET 17 RESOURCES: 18 00120.501 Ending Fund Balance $4,500.00 19 APPROPRIATION ENHANCEMENT: 20 00040.512.11.41.01 Professional Services $4,500.00 21 BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that an emergency does exist and this ordi- nance shall become effective immediately upon passage and approval 22 by the Executive; and further the Whatcom County Council finds that 23 the Ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of public peace, health, safety and /or support of the County government. 24 APPROVED this 19th day of December , 1985. 25 WHATCOM COUNTY COUNCIL ATTEST: WHATCOM COUNTY, WASHINGTON 26 CAROL EBERGSON WILLIAM P.
