ORDINANCE NO. 85 -106
AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE
TO REVISE THE 1985 NORBELL
NURSING HOME FUND BUDGET
WHEREAS, the 1985 NorBell Nursing Home budget reflected a need to come to
terms with cash flow difficulties; and,
WHEREAS, these difficulties have been resolved through the receipt of nearly
$80,000 in suit settlement from the State and higher per patient day
reimbursements; and,
WHEREAS, additional appropriation authority is necessary to pay salaries for
the remainder of the year; and,
WHEREAS, an emergency exists in that staff must be paid for work completed to
keep the facility open;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, the 1985 NorBell Nursing Home Fund Budget is
hereby revised as follows:

BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that an emergency does exist and this Ordinance shall
become effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Executive; and
further the Whatcom County Council finds that the Ordinance is necessary for
the immediate preservation of public peace, health, safety and /or support of
the County government.
