ORDINANCE NO. 85 -102
AN ORDINANCE CREATING THE SOLID WASTE RESERVE FUND, A SPECIAL
REVENUE FUND, TO PROVIDE MONIES FOR CLOSURE AND POST- CLOSURE
COSTS RELATED TO SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL FACILITIES.
WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council desires to create a Special
Reserve Fund to specifically set aside monies for future closures and post clo-
sure costs associated with its solid waste disposal facilities, and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the Reserve Fund is solely to be a mechanism
to finance solid waste disposal facility closure and post closure expenses.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, that a fund to be known as the Solid
Waste Reserve Fund is hereby established and that it be financed by annual
installments from the Solid Waste Management Fund, Fund No. 401; and
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, that $50,000 shall be transferred into
this fund from the Solid Waste Management Fund prior to July 1, 1986 and that
any future transfers will be determined through the budget process.
