AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING SERVICE FEES AND AUTHORIZING AND AGREEING TO THE CITY OF BELLINGHAM 1986 ADOPTED FEE SCHEDULE AS PER CITY ORDINANCE #9496 RELATING TO AMBULANCE SERVICE CHARGES WHEREAS, a subsidy amount for ambulance service has been determined by the Finance Committees of the City of Bellingham and Whatcom County and allocated in the 1986 adopted budgets of each entity, and WHEREAS, it is now necessary to adjust user rates to a figure to raise the portion of operating funds that along with the City and County subsidy will be sufficient to operate countywide ambulance service fo the year of 1986; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED: Section 1. In accordance with and as permitted in a county- wide intergovernmental agreement for emergency medical care and transportation services by and between the County of Whatcom and the City of Bellingham, whereby the City shall establish, assess and collect users' fees for services rendered within the City of Bellingham and in the unincorporated areas of Whatcom County by City ordinance and agreed to by County ordinance duly passed by the Council of Whatcom County on an annual basis, and mutually agreed upon by both parties, the County Council agrees and authorizes the following changes established for ambulance service to city and county users of the Bellingham /Whatcom County County- wide Ambulance Service. A. Base rates plus those charges described in B, C, D, E, F and G where applicable. Advanced Life Support within Whatcom County $245.00 Advanced Life Support out -of- county transfers 295.00 Basic Life Support within Whatcom County 150.00 Basic Life Support out -of- county transfers 200.00 Ordinance - 1. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 B. Mileage per mile, from the point at which the patient is accepted to the point of delivery $ 5.00 C. Standby service (per hour) $ 50.00 D. Oxygen $ 18.00 E. Multiple patients in one ambulance - -two or more patients carried by one ambulance, an additional charge of $75.00 for each patient above the first patient shall be added to the base cost. This amount shall then be pro -rated among the patients $ 75.00 F. Intravenous set -ups and any drugs administered to be charged on a per -cost basis at cost G. Non - resident and non -owner of real property in Whatcom County user $100.00 H. Advanced Life Support care given but no transport provided $200.00 Section 2.
