AN ORDINANCE. TO REVISE THE
1985 WHATCON COUNTY
CURRENT EXPENSE FUND,
PUBLIC DEFENDER'S BUDGET THEREIN
WHEREAS, the 1985 Public Defender's case load has increased thirteen percent
in the first nine months from the same time frame in 1984; and
WHEREAS, the Public Defender's Office has experienced a high proportion of
serious felony cases in 1985 and will be required to retry the Ortiz murder
case in January 1986, for which preparation must be accomplished in 1985, all
requiring additional professional services support; and
WHEREAS, a remodel and expansion of the Public Defender's Office was
accomplished late in 1984 and allocation for the resulting rental increase
was not included in the Public Defender's Budget for 1985;
NOW, THEREFORE LET IT BE ORDAINED, that the 1985 Whatcom County Current
Expense Fund, Public Defender's Budget therein is revised as follows:
