ORDINANCE NO. 85 -72
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING WHATCOM COUNTY CODE 2.68,
THE ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING POLICY AND REGULATIONS
GOVERNING THE ADMINISTRATION OF COUNTY -OWNED
PARKING AREAS BY ESTABLISHING FEES FOR PUBLIC
PARKING ON COUNTY -OWNED PARKING AREAS.
WHEREAS, The County Council passed Ordinance No. 80 -54 on August 7,
1980 designating County parking lots /areas as private parking lots /areas subjec
to County administration control, regulations and enforcement; and
WHEREAS, the County has enlarged its County -owned parking facilities t
comply with the City of Bellingham zoning ordinance in establishing a minimum o
70 spaces.for public use; and
WHEREAS, RCW 36.01.080 provides that counties may construct, maintain,
operate and collect rentals for parking areas as part of a Courthouse facility;
and
WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Whatcom County Council that a
fee should be established for hourly and monthly parking;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED that Whatcom County Code 2.68 is hereby
amended by adding thereto a new Section .U60 as follows:
2.68.u6U: FEES.
Effective the 14th day of October , 1985 there is hereby
adopted a schedule of fees and charges for monthly and ho. urly
rental of vehicle arp king spaces within the County -owned private
parking lot. Fees and charges shall be levied in such aP rking to
areas as the Co- unty Executive shall determine and shall be in
accordance with Exhibit A attached to this ordinance, and incor-
porated herein by reference as if fully set out herein and the
County Executive and /or designee shall administer and collect all
fees and charges and deposit same in the Buildinq Maintenance
Fund.

BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that unless specifically amended in this ordi-
nance, all other provisions of Whatcom County Code 2.68 shall remain in full
force and effect.
