ORDINANCE NO. 85 -63
ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 5.36 OF THE WHATCOM
COUNTY CODE
WHEREAS, the state law in this area prior to 1984 did not
cover the unincorporated areas, making it necessary for Whatcom
County to have its own ordinance dealing with junk dealers,
secondhand dealers and pawnbrokers; and
WHEREAS, in 1984, RCW 19.60 was amended to not only cover
unincorporated areas, but also to make RCW 19.60 very comprehen-
sive in its coverage of this type of business.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED that Chapter 5.36 of the
Whatcom County Code is amended as follows:
IT IS HEREBY FURTHER ORDAINED that Section 5.36.030 of the
Whatcom County Code shall be repealed in its entirety;
IT IS HEREBY FURTHER ORDAINED that Section 5.36.040 of the
Whatcom County Code shall be repealed in its entirety.
