HomeMy WebLinkAboutord1986-0821 INTRODUCED BY: WARNER 2 PROPOSED BY: County Executive 3 DATE: November 6, 1986 4 ORDINANCE NO. 86 -82 5 6 AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE TO REVISE THE 1986 ELECTION RESERVE FUND 7 BUDGET 8 WHEREAS, the initiative petition to repeal the Charter required 9 additional extra help to check valid signatures; and 10 WHEREAS, a larger than anticipated number of absentee ballots requested required additional extra help and overtime; and 11 WHEREAS, the printing cost of ballots and legal advertising has 12 been much higher than anticipated in the adopted 1986 budget; and 13 WHEREAS, the County must fully fund the cost of elections and an emergency situation exists in needing appropriation authority 14 immediately for payment to those performing the work; 15 NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED the 1986 Election Reserve Fund budget is hereby revised as follows: 16 1986 Election Reserve Fund 17 Resources: 18 10900 - 501.00.00.0000 Ending Fund Balance $10,000 19 Appropriation Enhancements: 10900 - 514.85.11.9000 Extra Help 3,500 20 31.0000 Office Supplies 6,500 Total $10,000 21 BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED That an emergency does exist and this 22 Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Executive; and further the Whatcom.County Council 23 finds that the Ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of public peace, health, safety and /or support of the 24 County government. 25 26 APPROVED this 6th day of November , 1986. 27 WHATCOM COUNTY COUNCIL ATTEST: WHATCOM COUNTY, WASHINGTON 28 29 30 CAROL EBERGSON WILLIAM P.
