ORDINANCE NO. 86--75
AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AMENDING
ORDINANCE NO. 86 -49 ESTABLISHING
WHATCOM COUNTY FERRY PATES
WHEREAS, the County Council has introduced an ordinance
establishing new rates for the Lummi Island Ferry; and,
WHEREAS, the ordinance indicates that the new rates
would go into effect on November 1, 1986; and,
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 86 -49 provides for new Ferry rates
that shall become effective on October 1, 1986;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED that Ordinance No. 86 -49
shall be amended as follows:
It is the intent of the County Council to adopt new Ferry rates
effective January 1., 1987. The effective date of this ordinance
shall be October 1, 1986, and the rates in effect on December 1,
1985, shall be the rates in effect until December 31, 1986.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the Whatcom County Council finds
that this ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation
of the public peace, health, safety and /or support of County
government. This Emergency Ordinance shall take effect
immediately upon approval by the County Executive and shall
expire 60 days thereafter.
