ORDINANCE NO. 86 -17
AN ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH WEIGHT LIMITATIONS ON THE
PORTION OF TELEGRAPH ROAD ACCESSING THE LIGHT IMPACT
INDUSTRIAL ZONE MID) ALONG BAKERVIEW ROAD
WHEREAS, IN COMPLIANCE WITH RCW 46.44.080, it is found necessary and expe-
dient to prohibit classes or types of vehicles on certain County roads and may
limit the weight of vehicles which may travel thereon; and
WHEREAS, a review was conducted by the County Engineer's office; and
WHEREAS, the existing Telegraph Road in the vicinity of L.I.I.D. zone was
not constructed either structurally or geometrically to handle through truck
movement;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED that a portion of Telegraph Road shall
restrict through truck movement of licensed vehicles having a gross vehicle
weight (GVW) greater than 10,000 pounds until such time as the roadway is
constructed to a standard capable of handling legal truck loads. The restric-
tion shall apply on the following described section of Telegraph Road:
1) That portion of 5th Street, known as Telegraph Road, within the plat o
McMillans Addition to Whatcom in the west half of the northwest quarte
of Section 17, Township 38 North, Range 3 East, W.M.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the County Engineer be and hereby directed to
post the appropriate signs and that the Whatcom County Sheriff and the
Washington State Patrol be notified by a copy of this ordinance. j
