ORDINANCE NO. 86-1
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE # 85 -3 WHICH
PERTAINS TO COUNTY FIRE MARSHAL SERVICES AND
ARSON INVESTIGATION BY DELETING SECTION 4 OF
THAT ORDINANCE ENTITLED "SUNSET CLAUSE "'
WHEREAS, Ordinance #85 -3, which pertains to County Fire Marshal
Services and Arson Investigation and which vests the responsibility
for Arson Investigation with the Sheriff's Department contains a sunset
clause; and
WHEREAS, the sunset clause provides that Arson Investigation responsi-
bility will revert to the Bureau of Buildings and Code Administration
after December 31, 1985, if Ordinance #85 -3 is not re- enaoted; and
WHEREAS, the Whatoom County Council has determined that Arson and Fire
Investigation should remain under the authority of the Whatoonp County
Sheriff's Office and has adopted a Budget for 1986 which reflects this
determination,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED that:
A. Section 4 of Ordinance #85 -3 entitled "Sunset Clause " is hereby
repealed as set forth below:

AND
B. Ordinance #85 -3, as amended by paragraph A of this ordinance,
shall be in full force and effective after December 31, 1985.
