ORDINANCE NO. 87 -82
AN ORDINANCE REGARDING THE MATTER OF PLACING
STOP SIGNS ON BAY ROAD ALDERGROVE ROAD
KICKERVILLE ROAD, LAWRENCt ROAD, ALDERSON LOAD
AND BIRCH BAY DRIVE.
WHEREAS, IN COMPLIANCE WITH RCW 46.61.200 and 47.37.110 it is found
necessary and expedient to place traffic control signs on certain county roads;
and
WHEREAS, an engineering study was conducted by the County Engineer's
office; and it was found that various locations warrant intersection control
mofifi'cation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED that intersectional traffic control be
modified at the following locations:
10/87
1) Install a stop sign eastbound on Bay Road at Burlington Northern
railroad crossing; Section 5, Township 39 North, Range 1 East, W.M.
2) Install a stop sign westbound on Bay Road at Burlington Northern
railroad crossing; Section 32, Township 40 North, Range 1 East, W.M.
3) Install a stop sign eastbound on Aldergrove Road at Burlington North
railroad crossing; Section 17, Township 39 North, Range 1 East, W.M.
4) Install a stop sign westbound on Aldergrove Road at Burlington North
railroad crossing; Section 8, Township 39 North, Range 1 East, W.M.
5) Install a stop sign northbound on Kickerville Road at Burlington
Northern railroad crossing; Section 33, Township 40 North, Range 1
East, W.M.
6) Install a stop sign northbound at the northerly terminus on Lawrence
Road at Hopewell Road; Section 9, Township 39 North, Range 4 East, W.M
7) Install a stop sign eastbound on Alderson Road at Birch Bay Drive;
Section 31, Township 40 North, Range 1 East, W.M.

8) Install a stop sign southbound on Birch Bay Drive at Alderson Road;
Section 31, Township 40 North, Range 1 East, W.M.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the County Engineer is hereby directed to post
the appropriate signs and that the Whatcom County Sheriff and the Washington
State Patrol be notified by a copy of this ordinance.
Provisions of this ordinance are hereby added to Whatcom County Code
Section 10.16.
