ORDINANCE NO. 87 -76
AN ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE FOR THE
RETENTION OF INTEREST EARNINGS
IN THE TORT CLAIMS FUND
WHEREAS, the County has made a policy decision to not purchase
insurance coverage for it's general liabilities in 1987; and,
WHEREAS, it is important that the County establish proper reserves
to allow for payment of claims from the Tort Claims Fund; and,
WHEREAS, the interest earnings on available cash balance could
assist the Fund in reaching a proper level of reserves;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED the Whatcom County Treasurer is
hereby authorized to invest monies made available in the Tort
Claims Fund, number 13600, and credit those interest earnings to
the Fund.
