Serka, attorney has requested an amendment to the text of Title 20, t.hc: Official Whatcom County Zoning Ordinance that would allow all types of commercial recreation facilities in Litt; Tourist Commercial zone district (WCC 20.63) as peimiti.ed usi.s. WHEREAS, the statutory requirements for SEPA review and publi.0 noLi.ce have been satisfied, and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has conducted a public hearing upon the application and formulated Findings of Fact and Reasons for Action and a Motion recommending approval of the Planning Commission's alternative amendment. NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED that Title 20, the, Official. Whai.com Cocmty Zoning Ordinance be amended as provided in Exhibit "C" attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. This Ordinance becomes affective ___ 9/14/87 _ _ 1.987, EXHIBIT "C" PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDED ZONE TEXT AMENDMENT: (proposed new text is underlined) Title 20 WCC 20.63 Tourist Commercial District .050 Permitted Uses 051 Indoor commercial recreation faciliti .150 Conditional Uses .156 Outdoor commercial recreation facilities. .652 Landscaping (2) For uses which abut noncommercial or nonindust:ri.al districts, or abut a use of a substantially different character, then the following specifications shall apply: (a) Screening shall be provided for buildings, storage areas, and parking areas, and outdoor recreation facilities which abut noncommercial or nonindustrial districts, or where said areas abut a use of substantially different character. If screening consists of a fence or wall, it shall not be less than six (6) feet nor more than seven (7) feet in height; and it shall be supplemented by a planting strip of vegetation and shall not obstruct necessary vision of pedestrian and vehicular- traffic.
