ORDINANCE NO. 87 -38
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING WHATCOM COUNTY CODE
SECTION 11.12.020 BOATING AND SWIDIMING
WHEREAS, the residents along the lakes in Whatcom
County have been exposed to extremely loud and
offensive noise levels due to the exhausts of certain
motorcraft, and
WHEREAS, for the public safety, wellbeing and enjoyment
of property it is necessary to amend W. C. C. 11.12.020
to alleviate the excessive noise.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED that Section 11.12.020 shall
be amended to read:
11.12.020 Mufflers. A. Every motorboat in excess of
50 horsepower shall at all times be equipped with a

BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that unless specifically amended by
this ordinance all other terms and conditions of Whatcom County
Code 11.12.020 shall remain in full. force and effect.
