ORDINANCE N0. 87 -28
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE WHATCOM COUNTY COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
MAP FOR APPROXIMATELY 106 ACRES OF A 170 ACRE PARCEL IN THE
BIRCH BAY - BLAINE SUBAREA FROM SUBURBAN (BIRCH BAY PLAN) TO
RURAL (1972 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN).
WHEREAS, the Planning Department has received an application from the
owners requesting that the Whatcom County Comprehensive Plan Map be amended from
Suburban (Birch Bay Plan) to Rural (1972 Comprehensive Plan) for approximately
106 acres of a 170 acre parcel located north of California Creek and Loomis
Trail Road and east of the intersection of Loomis Trail Road and Blaine Road in
the Birch Bay Blaine Subarea; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to RCW 36.70.590 legal notice of public hearing before
the Planning Commission was published in the Bellingham Herald; and
WHEREAS, the Deputy SEPA Administrator issued a Declaration of
N based upon the non - project nature of the application; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has conducted a public hearing upon the
application and formulated Findings of Fact and Reasons for Action and a Motion
recommending approval of the application.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED THAT:
The Whatcom County Comprehensive Plan Map shall be amended from the
Suburban designation (Birch Bay Plan) to the Rural designation (1972
Comprehensive Plan) for the westernmost 106 acre portion of the 170 acre parcel
with the legal description contained in Exhibit 1.
