ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE 83 -30
ASSIGNING THE NONEXCLUSIVE FRANCHISE FROM
G.T. CABLEVISION TO TCI CABLEVISION OF WASHINGTON
WHEREAS, on April 21, 1983 a franchise was granted to G.T.
Cablevision for a period of 10 years, and;
WHEREAS, that franchise provided the opportunity for G.T.
Cablevision to assign that franchise, which it has taken the
opportunity of doing, and;
WHEREAS, G.T. Cablevision is transferring all rights,
obligations, title and interest over to TCI Cablevision of
Washington which belongs to the same parent corporation of Tele-
Communications, Inc.;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED that the franchise granted in
Ordinance 83 -30 shall be transferred from G.T. Cablevision to TCI
Cablevision of Washington and that TCI Cablevision of Washington
shall receive all of the benefits and be held to all of the
responsibilities of said franchise.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that any provisions of the franchise
which are contrary to the recently- enacted federal law or ruling
by the Federal Communications Commission shall be null and void
and without further effect without hindering any of the other
provisions of the franchise which shall remain in full force and
effect.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that this transfer had been approved
in December of 1986 and shall be considered effective as of
December 31, 1986 unless it can be shown by competent evidence
why it should not have taken effect beforehand.
