ORDINANCE NO. 87 -2
AN ORDINANCE REGARDING THE MATTER OF
ESTABLISHING SPEED LIMITS ON VARIOUS COUNTY ROADS
WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council is authorized under RCW 46.61.415 to
establish speed limits on certain County roads; and
WHEREAS, an engineering study was conducted by the County Engineer's
office; and
WHEREAS, a review was conducted by the County Sheriff's office.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED that the speed limits be established as
follows:
1) 25 mph on all roadways within the plat of Valley View Meadows,
Section 2, Township 40 North, Range 1 East, W.M.
2) 25 mph on Lampman Road from the Olson Road west to the end of the
County road, Section 35, Township 39 North, Range 1 East,
W.M.
3) 35 mph on Potter Road and Hillside Road from SR 9 West, the entire
length, Sections 17, 18, 19 and 30, Township 38 North,
Range 5 East, W.M.
4) 35 mph on W. Wiser Lake Road from SR 539 west to the Old Guide Road,
Section 36, Township 40 North, Range 2 East, W.M.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the County Engineer be and hereby directed to
post the appropriate signs and that the Whatcom County Sheriff and the
Washington State Patrol be notified by a copy of this ordinance.
Provisions of this ordinance are hereby added to Whatcom County Code
Section 10.04.030, and Section 10.04.050 and Section 10.04.060.
