ORDINANCE NO. 88-108
AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE TO REVISE THE
1988 NON - DEPARTMENTAL APPROPRIATION
WITHIN THE CURRENT EXPENSE FUND
WHEREAS, the Nor -Bell Care Center Fund has had higher than
normal professional nursing services costs in order to main-
tain quality patient care; and,
WHEREAS, 1988 patient care fees are not maintaining an ade-
quate balance to cover these needs; and,
WHEREAS, a residual equity transfer from the Non - Departmental
portion of the Current Expense Fund will assist in mitigating
this problem; and,
WHEREAS, an emergency exists in that there is insufficient
time before years' end to follow the regular ordinance in-
troduction and passage schedule, since the last regularly
scheduled Council meeting has been held;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED the 1988 Current Expense Fund,
Non - Departmental budget plan is hereby revised as follows:

BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, Ordinance 87 -80 is hereby amended to
Increase the appropriation for the Non - Departmental portion
of the Current Expense Fund by $1,582.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, an emergency does exist and this Ordi-
nance shall become effective immediately upon passage and ap-
proval by the Executive; further, the Whatcom County Council
finds that this Ordinance is necessary for the immediate

preservation of the public peace, health, safety and /or
support of the government.
