ORDINANCE NO. 88-91
IN THE MATTER OF REPEALING ORDINANCE 82 -108
IN ORDER TO DISBAND THE LAKE WHATCOM WATERSHED
ADVISORY COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council adopted a comprehensive land use
plan for the geographic area known as the Lake Whatcom Subarea in 1982; and
WHEREAS, environmental policy of the comprehensive land use plan,
Section 1.12, directed Whatcom County to create a watershed advisory
committee to determine issues and recommend public policies concerning water
quality and quantity affecting the Lake Whatcom Watershed; and
WHEREAS, the Lake Whatcom Watershed Advisory Committee was created by
County Ordinance No. 82 -108 in December of 1982; and
WHEREAS, the advisory committee presented a report of its findings and
recommendations to the Bellingham City and Whatcom County councils in the fall
of 1987, completing its original mission; and
WHEREAS, an intergovernmental committee is being created, known as the
Lake Whatcom Watershed Committee, to evaluate and implement said
recommendations as it sees fit.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED that the Whatcom County Council disbands
the Council's advisory committee known as the Lake Whatcom Watershed Advisory
Committee by repealing Ordinance No. 82 -108.
