ORDINANCE N0. 88 -55
AN ORDINANCE TO REVISE THE
1988 REAL ESTATE EXCISE TAX
CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND
WHEREAS, the 1988 Real Estate Excise Tax Capital Improvement Fund
budget includes $50,000 to conduct a study of the County's sewer and water
needs; and
WHEREAS, the cost of the study is anticipated to exceed initial estima-
tes by approximately $35,000; and
WHEREAS, Whatcom County has an outstanding debt to the Economic
Development Administration of $24,420 as the result of a drought relief grant
administered between 1977 and 1983; and
WHEREAS, it is prudent for the County to pay its debt to the Economic
Development Administration to avoid interest charges which could be assessed
from July 1983 to present and to preserve the County's eligibility for EDA
grants;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, the 1988 Real Estate Excise Tax Capital
Improvement Fund is hereby revised as follows:

32607 532.30 41 Professional Services $35,000
32600 588.80 Prior Years' Corrections $24,420
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, Ordinance No. 87 -80 is hereby revised by
increasing the appropriation authority of the Real Estate Excise Tax Capital
Improvement Fund therein by $59,420.
