ORDINANCE NO. 88 -45
AN ORDINANCE REGARDING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF
SPEED LIMITS WITHIN SCHOOL ZONES
WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council is authorized under RCW 46.61.415 to
regulate speed limits on certain County roads, and
WHEREAS, the Bakerview Adventist School is now operating on the Waschke
Road, and
WHEREAS, it was found necessary to formally establish speed limits within
the vicinity of this new school structure,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED that a school zone and speed limit be set
and posted as "20 miles per hour, when children are present" at the following
location:
1) Waschke Road from W. Smith Road north for 0.18 mile located in
Section 27, Township 39 North, Range 2 East, W.M.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the County Engineer is hereby directed to post
the appropriate signs and that the Whatcom County Sheriff and the Washington
State Patrol be notified by a copy of this ordinance.
Provisions of this ordinance are hereby added to Whatcom County Code Section
10.04.095.
