AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 82 -30
FOR THE PURPOSE OF ESTABLISHING NEW
BOUNDARIES FOR CRESCENT PRECINCT NO. 1
AND FOR THE ELIMINATION OF CRESCENT
PRECINCT NO. 4
WHEREAS, the precincts of Crescent No. 1 and Crescent
No. 4• were created under Ordinance 82 -30 due to the existence of
a legislative boundary district which divided the Lake Samish
area east and west; and,
WHEREAS, the said legislative boundary district has
since been redrawn so as to no longer divide the Lake Samish
area into east and west, thus removing the original reason for
creating the two precincts; and,
WHEREAS, the precinct of Crescent No. 1 contains 404
registered voters and the precinct of Crescent No. 4 contains
201 registered voters; and,
WHEREAS, state law (Chapter 29.04) requires the County
legislative authority to divide the County into election
precincts and to establish the boundaries of same; and,
WHEREAS, it appears in the best interest of the County
to return the Lake Samish area to one precinct.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED that:
Ordinance No. 82 -30 be and hereby is amended so as to
establish new precinct boundaries for the precinct designated as
Crescent No. 1 so as to include what has heretofore been the
precinct of Crescent No. 4, resulting in the elimination of
- Ordinance - 1.

EXHIBIT "A"
CRESCENT N0. 1:
Beginning at the North quarter of Section 9, Township
37 North, Range 3 East; thence South along the North -South
centerline to the right of way of Interstate 5, thence West
along said right of way to the City Limits of Bellingham,
thence West approximately one half mile (1/2) to the West
line of Section 17, Township 37 North, Range 3 East, thence
South along the West line of Sections 17,20,29 and 32, Town-
ship 37 North, Range 3 East to the Skagit - Whatcom County
boundary line; thence East six (6) miles along said boundary
line to the Southeast corner of Section 31, Township 37 North,
Ranges 3 & 4 East. Thence North one mile (1), West one mile (1)
and North four miles (4) to the Northeast Corner of Section 12,
Township 37 North, Range 3 East, thence West three and one half
(3 1/2) miles to the point of beginning.
