ORDINANCE NO. 88 -37
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE 82 -30
AND 83 -37 FOR THE PURPOSE OF ESTABLISHING NEW
BOUNDARIES FOR FERNDALE TOWNSHIP PRECINCTS NO.
2 and 3, FERNDALE CITY PRECINCT NO. 3 AND
NOOKSACK TOWNSHIP PRECINCTS NO. 2 AND 3.
WHEREAS, the City of Ferndale has annexed territory
causing a division in voting precincts requiring the
establishment of new voting precinct boundaries; and,
WHEREAS, state law (Chapter 29.04) requires the County
legislative authority to divide the County into election
precincts and to establish the boundaries of same; and,
WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council has previously
established precinct boundaries through enactment of Ordinance
No.'s 82 -30 and 83 -37.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED that:
Ordinance No. 82 -30 and 83 -37 be and hereby are
amended so as to establish new precinct boundaries for the
precincts designated as Ferndale Township No. 2, Ferndale
- Ordinance - 1.

EXHIBIT "A ".
PRECINCT: FERNDALE TOWNSHIP NO. 2.
Beginning at the Northwest Corner of Section 6, Township
39.North, Range 2 East, thence South approximately two and one
half miles (2 1/2) to the North line of the City Limits of the
City of Ferndale, thence Easterly and Southerly along said City
Limits to the right of way of Interstate 5, thence Northerly
along said right of way to the Northern most point of said City
Limits, thence Easterly and Southerly along said City Limits to
the center channel of the Nooksack River, thence Northeasterly
along said River to its intersection with the North Line of
Section 3,Township 39 North, Range 2 East, thence West approx-
imately three and one quarter (3 1/4) miles to the point of
beginning
PRECINCT: FERNDALE TOWNSHIP NO. 3.
Beginning at the Southwest Corner of Section 31, Township
39 North, Range 2 East, thence North approximately two and one
eighth (2 1/8) miles to the City Limits of the City of Ferndale
being on the West Line of Section 19, Township 39 North, Range
2 East, the Church Road right of way. Thence Easterly and
Southerly along the City Limits of the City of Ferndale to its
intersection with the South Line of Section 33, Township 39
North, Range 2 East, thence West to the meander line of the
Nooksack River,thence Southerly to its intersection with the
West Line of Section 8, Township 38 North, Range 2 East, thence
North approximately one and one half (1 1 /2).miles along said
line to the Southeast Corner of Section 31., Township 39 North,
Range 2 East, thence West one mile (1) to the point of beginning.
FERNDALE CITY NO. 3.
All of that area within the corporate boundaries of the City
of Ferndale lying North of the East -West centerline of Section
19, Township 39 North, Range 2 East, and the centerline of Section
24, Township 39 North, Range 1 East, West of Vista Drive.
NOOKSACK TOWNSHIP NO.2.
Beginning at the point where the West Line of Section 31,
Township 41 North, Range 4 East meets the International Boundary
line; thence South along said Line approximately five and one
half (5 1/2) miles to the City Limits of the Town of Everson, thence
Easterly along said City Limits to the City Limits of the Town
of Nooksack; thence Northerly and Easterly along said City Limits
to the South Line of Section 20, Township 40 North, Range 4 East,
thence East along said Line to the North South centerline -of
Section 21, Township 40 North, Range 4 East, thence North along
said Line approximately four and one half (4 1/2) miles through
Sections 21,16,9,4 and 33 in Townships 40 and 41 North, Range
4 East to its intersection with the International Boundary Line,
thence West two and one half miles (2.1/2) to the point of beginning.
NOOKSACK TOWNSHIP NO.3.
Beginning at the Northeast corner of Section 25, Township 40
North, Range 4 East, thence West approximately four and one eight
(4 1/8) miles along the North Lines of Sections 25,26:,27,28 and
29 to the City Limits of the Town of Nooksack, thence Southerly
and Westerly along said City Limits to. the meander line of the
Nooksack River; thence Southerly and Easterly along said meander
line to its i intersection_..with .the Easti.Westccentl�rline�' of Section
8, Township 39 North, Range 4 East, thence East along said
centerline through Sections 8,9,10,11,12 to the East line of
Section 12, Township 39 North, Range 4 East, thence North three
and one half (3 1/2) miles to the point of beginning.
